Are you confused between Zopiclone and Zolpidem? Both are prominent sleeping aid drugs, however, there is a slight difference in their characteristics. Keep reading to find out which one is more suitable for you, and what are the side effects, risk factors, and dosage recommendations.

Insomnia is a common issue these days. Such is the pressure we all live in, that it’s very easy to ruin our sleep cycle. The primary reasons why it’s hard to fall asleep sometimes, are anxiety, stress, physical pain, unnecessary thoughts, etc.

Now, as humans, it’s practically impossible to stop thinking no matter what the situation is but if you keep losing your sleep for a few days in a row, it may have an adverse impact on your daily life such as behavioral changes, mood swings, inability to perform due to idleness, etc.

Although doctors always suggest treating insomnia by changing your routine and lifestyle, sometimes, no matter what, you just can’t fall asleep. And even if you manage to sleep on time, you may wake up several times during the night, or wake up unexpectedly in the morning. In this case, you need to consult a doctor and ask for medical advice. Usually, doctors try to cure insomnia with sleeping pills such as Antidepressants, sleeping aids, etc.

In this post, we are discussing two major drugs of this category – Zopiclone, and Zolpidem. You can buy Zopiclone and Zolpidem from any physical or online store in the UK.

Which One Is More Effective? Zopiclone or Zolpidem?

Both pills belong to the same category of sedatives/hypnotics. They are prescribed to treat various sleeping disorders along with chronic insomnia. Both of them are Non-Benzodiazepine tablets, meaning they are less harmful than Benzodiazepine antidepressant pills.

How to Use?

Although both tablets are used to treat insomnia, Zolpidem is usually prescribed for short-term usage. People who are suffering from a poor sleep cycle for 1-2 weeks can take a 10mg dose every day. But, always consult your doctor before taking any of these sleeping pills. Yes, they are not as harmful as Etizolam and clonazepam, but there are always some chances you may form a dependency.

Zopiclone, on the other hand, is more suitable for chronic insomnia. Doctors may prescribe it to people who need a long insomnia treatment. On average, a 7.5mg dose is recommended before you hit the bed.

Which One Is More Efficient?

In several tests, both pills had almost identical effects on human sleep routines. However, Zopiclone is a little more efficient than Zolpidem due to its strong formula. That’s why it’s used to treat long-term insomnia while Zolpidem is more suitable for casual sleep disorders.

Side Effects

There is no difference in both tablets in terms of side effects. Ultimately they are sleeping pills so you may experience common side effects. As I mentioned earlier, the pills belong to the Non-Benzodiazepine category, meaning their side effects will be less intense than pills like Etizolam. Never increase or reduce the dose without your doctor’s prescription.

Sleeping pills should be taken with care. Don’t stop them without consulting your doctor. Here are some side effects you may experience if you take either of these pills for more than 3 weeks.
